Reading data from cold store deteriorates performance

Good afternoon,
We have an ADSO with static Partitioning by dimensión 0FISCYEAR

there is a query that reads data from this ADSO we usually get data from 2023 to the current year, the execution time is about 6 seconds

After seting the partion 2023 to the cold store we try to execute the query but we only get a timeout, we cannot execute the query with the same filters.

Is it normal that the performance deteriorates so badly? is there anyway to improve this performance?

Hi

In general its expected, that reading from the COLD store is slower than reading from a table, that lies within HANA.

Also note, that it makes not much sense to put regularly accessed data into the cold store. Only data should be moved into the cold store, that is accessed sporadically.

This is something you have to check with your local HANA and SAP IQ database administrators to see if there is any way to improve the performance.
