Hello Friends,

After executing the Query when I try to drill down on any free characteristics a Warning Message pops up (Brain 144) as below.. I wonder this was not happend on this query before.. although this message can be deactivated using RSRT1, I am bit curious to fix it at Query settings level if possible. Could you please throw some light on this.. Thanks..below is the Warning message.

There is a condition on Cust Crdt Ctrl Area, on Company Code (conditional)

results row suppr. active

Message no. BRAIN144

Diagnosis

A processing condition is active on characteristic Cust Crdt Ctrl Area

and the property 'Suppress Results Row' is active on Company Code. This

generally leads to an incomprehensible output list.

System response

As soon as a processing condition (here Cust Crdt Ctrl Area) is defined

for characteristic, the system calcualtes the associated results rows

and applies the processing condition. If such a results row is now

deleted the condition, all of the detail and results rows that are

subordinate to it in the drilldown are suppressed. Afterwards the Cust

Crdt Ctrl Area rows are omitted due to results row suppression on

Company Code.

In an extreme case this can lead to a completely empty list being

displayed, although the individual rows or columns are supposed to be

allowed through by the condition when it is deactivated.

Procedure

Check the settings for the query, especially the results row suppresion

and the processing conditions.

Procedure for System Administration

You can deactivate this message Brain 144 with transaction RSRT1

I sometimes get this error message too when I have told BW to suppress a results row on a characteristic, but I am doing a condition on some data in the key figures. It gives me the error message at that time. You can get rid of it by showing the results rows for the appropriate characteristics. In some cases, we don't want the result row, so we just ignore the message.

Hope that helps!

Teresa,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually we do have a condition on one of the Key Figure and "Suppress Results Rows" property for all the Characteristics is set to "With Only One Value". What I observed is, if I change the value to "Never" the bex warning "BRAIN 144" is not showing up...but the results are being calculated for every drilldown characters (which out end users don't like it)..

Just wondering is there anything can be done..

Please comment your thoghts..

I don't know how to get around what you are doing. We run into the same thing where the users do not like to see the results rows for selected characteristics when conditions are applied. (which leads to the error message). I'm guessing that is why BW gives you the option to suppress the warning/error message. I have never done the warning/suppression part, but I am guessing that if you suppress the error message for "BRAIN 144", it would suppress it for all queries and not just the one you are working on. If you do suppress it, it would be interesting for me to know if it is a global suppression of the message or not. Good luck!

Teresa,

Thanks for your Comments..

by the way.. the message suppression is per Query but not Globally. I tried that and it worked well.
