Problem with currency and NULL values

Hi,

when using measures with currency conversion (live BW) in a table SAC correctly shows NULL values as '-' and currency can be shown as column 'subheader':

However, when I create calculated measures (end user wants to change keyfigures dynamically) with conditional logic then NULL values are shown as zeros (zero is created in cond. logic) without currency information => for all other cells in this column currency is now being displayed in front of values.

I can prevent this by tick off 'use unit of base measure' in formatting options of the calc. measure and leave measure of unit as a blank. But I would prefer to show currency as in the table above => any suggestions?
