Dear All,
I'm new using Analysis for Office. Currently we are using the latest version 2.5 to create some manual data.
We have some problem when user input the wrong value in the selection screen. The location should be SG, but user didn't use the help F4 and directly type SINGAPORE instead of SG. Actually after user execute the selection screen, there is warning said that SINGAPORE doesn't exist in the master data, user ignored it and save the data. Now we have SG and SINGAPORE.

My question is there anyway to prevent user, so they only input the value based on master data that we have?
Thanks,
Harry

Hi,
the characteristic 'Location' should have a master data table, then the variable screen checks the values against the master data table. The system might create a new SID for not yet existing master data values entered in the variable screen but not new master data values; configure the F4 help to return only master data values.

Gregor

Harry - I wonder if this is something that can be handled in the backend, as it sounds like in this blog BPC wouldn't allow this type of entry error - see https://blogs.sap.com/2016/11/24/bpc-10.1-embedded-how-to-validate-your-data/
