Oracle function call in Business Objects

Hi Experts

Can we call oracle function into Business Objects ?

If yes , can somebody please elaborate where and how to call these function.

I have a requirement like this.

Hi Saurav,

Could you please elaborate. Do you want to use oracle as data source ? Why did such a requirement come ? What reporting tool are you using under business objects ?

You can use stored procedures in oracle as data source into business objects reports.

If you meant using oracle functions in BO report formulaes or variables, then it is not possible. You could check some of the functions already available in BO reporting if it works for you.

I mean to say there are few fields which user want to see which are not table mapped columns or so,there are a few DB functions created to compute those fields.

Thats why i thought of oracle function calling or something so in report....

Build them into your universe as objects. The format would be something like:

schema.function_name(input_table.column)

Make sure that the user account defined in the universe connect has execute privs on the function.
