Dear Experts,

I would like to use Oracle as back-end database for SAP ECC. Which version & edition (Enterprise/Standard) of Oracle is recommended for SAP ECC 6.0? Is there any constraint from SAP on specific Oracle version & edition?

Please suggest..

Regard

Hello Sibasish,

As per note 740897 - Info about the scope of the Oracle license; Required Oracle options

In general, Oracle Enterprise Edition is required for all SAP applications. Other editions are not supported.

For supported Oracle version for SAP ECC 6.0 and its enhancement package, please check SAP PAM

https://apps.support.sap.com/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/support/pam/pam.html?smpsrv=https%3a%2f%2fweb...

The latest version of Oracle is 12.1.0.2, we use Oracle 11.2.0.4 to be more stable in my view.

Hi Sibasish,

I would suggest you to have a look at PAM for OS-DB-APP compatibility.

Note: In general, Oracle Enterprise Edition is required for all SAP applications. Other editions are not supported. Refer below note for the same.

Hi,

Thanks for both helpful answers. I don't have S-User Id, hence I can't access SAP Note and PAM doc. Can I get more clarity on this please?
