Opening Content Server Documents On the Internet

Hi Team,

We have recently enabled the FLP over the internet using a WAF which is connected to our RISE environment.

So we have a user on the public internet that clicks on the URL which points to the WAF- it then sends to the web dispatcher and then it sends to the S/4 HANA. All the transactions is working fine but when we open documents from the content server which is hosted by the servers on the customer network we are getting hostname unknown on the internet because what happens is the content server returns the content using the content server url and not the URL we used to launch FLP causing the hostname unknown. We dont want to expose the content server to public either , is there anyway we can set this up.

Any guidance on this?

Hello @bala_kanaya 

Content Server returns its internal URL, causing hostname unknown externally.

Configure Content Server base URL / external URL mapping to use the WAF/public URL.
Enable reverse proxy for Content Server and route calls through it.
Maintain correct host mapping so URLs are rewritten externally.

Access Content Server only via Web Dispatcher/WAF with URL rewriting.
