OPatch failed with error code 73 durring SBP

Hi All

I am installing latest SBP of 11204. While installing I am getting the below error

LsInventorySession failed: OPatch failed to locate Central Inventory.

Possible causes are:

The Central Inventory is corrupted

The oraInst.loc file specified is not valid.

OPatch failed with error code 73

Getting pre-run patch inventory...failed.

Cannot get pre-run patch inventory. Exiting.

I checked there is no contents in the oraInventory folder. And the opatch lsinventory is also failing due to this.

Any suggestion how to recreate the oraInventory.

Central Inventory : /oracle/oraInventory

from : /oracle/SID/112_64/oraInst.loc

Please anybody suggest on this.

Hello Prakash,

Several times it is just easier to completely deinstall and reinstall the whole RDBMS, but you may try detaching and reattaching it. There's a list of steps for the in the note below, you may attemp the detach -> attach first, if it doesn't work, then likely deinstall -> install will solve it faster than trying to troubleshoot it specifically.
