Netweaver 7.3 installation: error during "Install Java Engine"

Hi,

I´m triying to install the Application Server Java for Netwaver 7.3 (new installation on a Windows Server 2012). Everything procede well until the "Install Java Engine" where I receive the following error:

The problem is similar to this , but in my case:

1) the error code is 8

2) the database is MSSQL 2008 R2 (included in the installation packages) and not Oracle

Hello Josef,

From my past PI installation experiences, the generic solution for AS JAVA installation errors during the step "Install Java engine" is updating your kernel manually to the latest one and simply retry your installation from the point of failure.

1. don't stop the installtion

2. stopsap

2. uncar your kernel SAPEXE* & SAPEXEDB* files in your respective kernel dir's

3. startsap

4. retry your installation

I downloaded the package 51048277_6- Krnl_7.21_WIN__IA32__IA64__x64__SP06. Inside there is a folder MSS with the SAPEXEDB.SAR. The SAPEXE file is the one inside the DBINDEP folder? And I have to replace the same files in the folder that initially I set for the UC Kernel 73?

Yes those are the files. Pls update your kernel as said above and retry the installation i.e., uncar your .SAR files in the following locations & give a retry.

/usr/sap/J09/J00/exe

/usr/sap/J09/SYS/exe/run

I don´t have a folder /usr/sap/J09/SYS/exe/run. In the path usr/sap/J09/SYS/exe/ i have 3 folder:

jvm, mssjdbc and uc

Open the Command prompt just type the command JAVA -version could you share the screen shot

When I do that the message I received is: 'JAVA' is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file. As I understood the SAPInst is using is own java machine or I have to istall separatelly a specific java version?

You mean SDTServer.log, server.err, server.out and server.trc contents?

I am asking for the work directory logs for concerned system and also, if you can supply above, all in z zip file, that would be good.

Sorry but this is the first time I install SAP netweaver. You want all the log files inside the folder usr\sap\J09\J00\work?

Yes, perhaps.. if you have logs under work directory then please supply.
