Hi,
We have installed 32 bit HANA client and added new system.
Now we are creating Datasource for HANA using DI.
We are doing
1. Start >> Control panel >> Administrative Tools
2. Choose DataSources (ODBC)
3. Choose System DSN
4. Choose Add
Here we need to select HDBODC driver from the list, but this driver is missing in the list.
Have we missed anything? What we need to do to get this driver?
Thanks & Regards
Sagar Shelar

The 32 bit version of the SAP HANA Client Windows install is available from SAP Software Downloads.

Hello,
Although the topic is old, I have the same need. My SAP is running with 32 bits, and I can't find the driver for it. I found only the driver 64 bits on https://tools.eu1.hana.ondemand.com/#hanatools. Therefore, I don't see it in my ODBC-data source-administrator 32bit.
What can I do?

Hi,
Install the HANA Client in your system where you try to configure the ODBC Connection.
The command to be used ....__installer.HDB\hdbinst.exe -a client

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies.
Actually we have 32 bit windows and we have installed 32 bit HANA Client on Win 32 OD vresion.
But still we are missing this HDBODBC Driver in the list.
In one of the posts I found that we need to install HANA client on BODC server, this will add HDBODBC driver on the Drivers tab.
Is that what I'm missing? Do we need to install HANA client on BODS server?
Regards
Sagar
Yes, if you are running BODS designer from a different client machine to that of the BODS server, yes you need HANA client to be installed in both. However, I am not too sure if that is why you are missing HDBODBC here but may well be. Since you need to do it anyway, I think you should try it out straight away and please update it here if that solves it for the benefit of others.
Thanks,
Anooj
Make sure you are using the 32bit ODBC Administrator to create your connection.
The 32bit ODBC admin is run from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
The 64bit ODBC admin is run from C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe
The 32 bit driver will show up in the list of available drivers as HDBODBC32.
Cheers,
Jody
HelLo Sagar,
you need to install the SAP HANA Client on your machine.
Please install the same and then you are able to see the driver under the administrative tool.
Hope it is helpful.

Sagar:
If you are using Excel 2007, you will need the 32 bit drivers configured as well.

Hi Sagar,
Have you installed the 32 bit client on a 64 bit Win OS? If so, you need to follow this:
Note that on 64bit platforms the 32bit ODBC Administrator is not in the System Control panel
- Configure 32bit drivers under Win64 via C:\Windows\SysWow64\ODBCAD32.exe
- After initial configuration, the DSN will be available in Control Panel-based ODBC Administraton
Thanks,
Anooj
