Hi,
We'd like to know whether master data RDA is supported or not.
We know that in T-cd:RSD1 > Master/Text tab > "Permitted Real time data acquisition" flag is provided after BW 7.3.
However, even though we set this flag for master like 0CUSTOMER, 0MATERIAL, 0VENDER, etc, we can't create Real time DTP.
We also check ROOSOURCE in source system and noticed that data sources like 0CUSTOMER_ATTR, 0CUSTOMER_TEXT, etc
doesn't have "real time enable" flag = X.
According to below link, we consider that all infoobjects can use RDA if we can set RDA flag in T-cd: RSD1, but we can't.
Q1: Master data RDA will be supported in future release ?
Q2: Is there any way to fulfil the requirement of master text, atter RDA in current release BW 7.3 ? (generic datasource ?)
Thank you and best regards,
Masato
Request clarification before answering.
BW 7.3 allows for real-time master data acquisition. This means that you can transfer delta records to InfoObject attributes and texts at a frequency of one per minute.

Hi Masato,
We cant create realtime DTP, only real time info packages can be created and the correcpoding DTP's needs to be assigned to daemons using the tcode rsrda....
Yes it will be supported in the furture releases also...
Im not clear about your second question.
Thanks,
Nithesh.

Hi Nithesh,
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry, I'm confused...
0CUSTOMER, 0PLANT, 0MATERIAL are supporting RDA in "infoobject level".
However, corresponding standard datasources like 0CUSTOMER_ATTR, 0CUSTOMER_TEXT, etc are not support RDA in "datasource level".
Am I correctly understood ?
If above understanding is correct, this means we cannot do RDA to transfer data into standard infoobject: 0CUSTOMER with using standard datasource 0CUSTOMER_TEXT ?
To fulfil the requirement, do we have to create generic datasource and map that datasource into
standard infoobject: 0CUSTOMER ?
Thanks,
Masato
even though the data sources doesnt support RDA, you can create info package with RDA enabled and achieve real time data...
This means even though datasources like 0CUSTOMER_ATTR, 0CUSTOMER_TEXT, etc are not support RDA in "datasource level", Real time data can be achieved by creating a special info package with RDA enabled...
No need to create a generic data source...
Have i made my points clear...
If not please revert back...
Thanks,
Nithesh.
Sorry for the confusion... I totally misunderstood the concept....
Enable the info object for RDA
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/4a/40815bacb51cece10000000a42189b/frameset.htm
Then create a generic data source which supports RDA...
then the info package and DTP...
in Bi 7.0 info objects doesnt support, in BW7.3 its supported...
apart from that not much difference...
I just tried in the system now, and i was not able to do as i told in my previous post..
For advantages abt RDA in BW 7.3 check the below link
http://bisharath.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/realtime-data-aquisition-rda-in-bw-73.html
Sorry again for the confusion created by me...
Thanks,
Nithesh.
Thank you all.
Yes I know that to create infopackage for RDA, the datasource have to be RDA enabled.
To RDA enable the datasource, I consider set REALTIME flag =X in ROOSOURCE.
But it seems my understanding of ROOSOURCE seems wrong.
Sorry, I'm still confused about CHowthary's advise.
According to CHowthary, "
By checking table ROOSOURCE, the data source which are having field REALTIME=X, thsoe won't support RDA.
For SAP defined data sources we can't make them as to support RDA.".
0CUSTOMER_ATTR, 0CUSTOMER_TEXT,etc doesn't have REALTIME=X flag in ROOSOURCE.
I mean, REALTIME flag is blank for these datasources.
According to CHowthary, if REALTIME=X flag is set in ROOSOURCE, this will not support RDA.
So, this means 0CUSTOMER_ATTR, 0CUSTOMER_TEXT can do RDA ?
So, let me confirm again.
1. Which data source support RDA ? REALTIME flag is X one, or blank one ?
Thank you,
Masato
Hi Oda,
If SAP was provided(7.3) flag option at info object level for RDA, mean its supporting and higher versions also will support as usual.
as you said at ROOSOURCE table have falg as X for field REALTIME mean not possible RDA. actually option was enabled IOBJ level but data source not adjusted to support RDA. for your required data sources won't support RDA.
Q1. as you said 7.3 they provided, mean its possible bw 7.3 onwards

Hi K Raman,
Thank you for your quick reply.
Let me confirm below.
0CUSTOMER, 0PLANT, 0VENDER
Below understanding are correct ?
1. infoobject level: RDA supported because they can set RDA flag in RSD1
2. These corresponding datasources are not RDA supported in datasource level.
Then, how we adjust datasource to be able to do RDA ?
OR To do RDA for these master, do we have to create generic datasource and
map that datasource to these infoobjects ?
Thanks
Masato
For data sources which supports rda its not required to create a info package with RDA enabled...
From BW 7.3 even for the data sources which doesnt supports RDA we have an option of creating only one info package of a special type with RDA enabled... this makes the availability of real time data...
there is no need to adjust the data source...
please check the link below...
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/4a/2c6be7c16d47dbe10000000a42189c/content.htm
Just addign the DTP alone to a daemon using RSRDA tcode, there you can specify the time interval of the load...
Hope this helps...
Thanks,
Nithesh.
Hi Oda,
By checking table ROOSOURCE, the data source which are having field REALTIME=X, thsoe won't support RDA.
For SAP defined data sources we can't make them as to support RDA.
Try to create RDA info pack and deamon at dtp and test it once. if those worked then move across the landscape.
Thanks
