MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG tp failed with return code 200

Hi Experts,

While upgrading our ECC EHP7 SFIN SAP_FIN720 SP06 to SP13(latest) on HANA I am getting below error in MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG. Please note this is a development system hence the memory on HANA is around 120GB only for a system and 2 tenant DBs out of which one is the said ECC system.

Hana studio indicates the index server was restarted as well which points to high memory usage. Please suggest how can I get through this with the memory at hand or do I need to increase the global allocation memory for this HANA DB (after stopping SUM, SAP and HANA) and start again on this phase.

Thank you David, the suggested note is quite comprehensive and will require detailed analysis, as a quick solution I had stopped SUM, SAP and HANA Database. Excluded the other tenant database present in our HANA DB and started only SYSTEM and ERP HANA DBs to make more memory available to this DB and the upgrade process. If it still fails I will try to increase the Global allocation limit for the HANA DB so it has more memory.

Hello,

The error occurs on the database, once the memory issue is addressed on the DB the phase should pass. See the note 1999997 - FAQ: SAP HANA Memory it may be helpful to address the memory problems
