Hi all,

In the IDES i have made one MAIL step( agent for the same is workflow initiator).

Expected result is that workflow initiator should receive that particular work item. But its not working.

i have seen the authorisation for the backgroungd use WF-BATCH.

he is having all SAP authorisation.

What can be the different reasons beccause of which this Simple step is not working?

Regards,

Vikram Singh.

Hi Vikram,

I hope u have configured SWU3 and set WF-Batch and everything such as prefix is ok. In that case initator mail will be sent to the business work place of initator check in the initator's SBWP. if u still find problems go to SWEL or SWI14 or Outbox and see the workflow log to identify the error.

If u try sending external mail then u should configuer SCOT settings.

Hi Deepak,

i have checked the status of the workflow and it s lying in the status ready.in SWU3 and WF-BATCH.

what all are the setting that is prerquisite for the MAILSTEP. I dont want to send an external mail.I just want the mail in the INBOX of the initiator.

I think that there is some authorisation issue. But not able to find out the exact reason for the same.

Thanks.

Hi VS,

if you talking about SendMail Step, this would only send text messages to recepients and not workitems.

Try using Activity Step for workitems.

Hope it helps.

Hi Vikram,

Check your SMTP settings in SCOT tcode.

Once this settings are fine then mails should go to either ur outlook or external mail inbox. Otherwise contact your BASIS team for this SCOT settings.

Later check this mails in SOST tcode. Here you can identify the mail detials like recipient mail id, subject etc.

Hi,

If you want to send mail to SAP Inbox just select the agent as USER and give the unique id for which you want to send the mail.

Hi,

Just click on Agent assignment below and select the attribute as General.

I think this is the problem. You may get the solution.

Otherwise tell me the steps which you did in this mail step.

Hi chandu,.

the step is back ground so i think it dosent make sense to make it general.

I have created a mail step ,

In that step in the "MAIL tab" i have choosen RECIPENT TYPE as Organisation Object and Expression as WORKFLOW INITIATOR. I have filled the subject line "XYZ..................".

When i have activated the workflow.Automatically task gets created for that Mail step with objet type SELFITEM and method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION.this task get created as an background step.

and when i am running the workflow. W/f get struct to that mail step with status ready

Hi,

Just change the recipient type to EMail Address and give ur gmail. Test this whether u r getting the external mail or not.

Check ur SMTP settings in SCOT tcode.

Check saptechnical site for sendmail step.

you can get the solution.

I think one of the user who has the authorization to the Txn SU01 has changed the password of the WF-BACTH check, I also came across the same case

Hi dharmala ,

Iam trying the same method as you have mentioned.

I am having 1 decision step in which there is an option YES or NO.Agent for this decision step is workflow initiator.

When the workflow initiator choose "NO" control goes to the next step that is MAIL STEP.The workflow initiator Should receive the mail in his SAP INBOX( as the agent for the step is workflow initiator)

But here in the logs the mail step is appearing in the status READY

Hi vikram,

As you mentioned IDES try to send a mail from your id to other user-id from SBWP. if it not works then you are not maintained pre-requisites for Sending mail options. like dheepak mentioned.
