Live data refreshing

Hi,

I have a story created using an online data model based on HCP.

This HCP model is updated every 2 seconds and I am trying to find the way my story refresh on each update in the HCP model.

If I use a table I can use the refresh bottom but it is no way to refresh a chart ... at least I did not find it.

Any of you has face the same problema?

Any idea on how to force the update in a chart?

Hi,

I am having the same issue. The workaround proposed by Clemens works fine for provisional testing but I hope there is an activation of the refresh button planned for the future.

Even a refresh button would not be the ideal solution for real-time-data like yours David, does someone know if there is an auto refresh option possible or planned?

Hi,

I can confirm that this enhancement has been submitted to the development team for consideration.

this problem also perculates through to the digital boardroom, where there is no refresh button at all, only close-reopen to get new live data.

What happens when you refresh (F5) the entire page?

It refreshs the whole SAP BO Cloud, it takes more than 20 seconds, at first it loads the welcome screen,  then it opens the story, asks me to login in again in the HCP database and finally it loads the first page of the story .... after that I have to click on the correct page and yes, the data is updated ... but this is not a solution 😞

Yes, sorry about that. Not a good idea.

Just like you I am not able to find a refresh option like with the tables. But I tried some workarounds. There not ideal, but better than having to refresh the entire page.

Could you try these workarounds, they refresh the chart but I am not sure about the data:

In present mode:

Change the order of the data by selecting a chart and then use the menu:

If you are in designer mode you could try to change (and change back) the description of the dimension:

Do these workarounds refresh the data?

I consulted the Roadmap but could not find anything specific on this matter. Hopefully the dev team will include a refresh option in the near future. I will report it to our SAP contact if you like.
