level based hierarchy in the table widget

Hello!

Please, advise how to configure the table widget in Analytics Designer to get the result:

I set up the Level-Based hierarchy Task>Group and I want to see in the table below Group members that "belongs" only to the given Task member, not all members of the Group dimension.

The hierarchy Project>Task>Group looks as follows

or

I also set up the toggle

for the Group dimension.

What is interesting, while trying to set filters for the Group dimension I realise that the hierarchy is reflected correctly

Basically, I'd like to get the same reflection of the hierarchy in the table itself!

So, what did I do wrong or what I haven't done?

Thanks for the advice!

ypinchukAssuming Task and Group are separate dimensions where in group dimensions you have created a level based hierarchy Project> task using the attributes Project and Task . The issue is your Task and Group dimensions are not related and what you see in table ( for each task all groups) is the default SAC behavior for un booked members.

I do not think level based hierarchy can resolve this. Currently Table widget does not allow one dimension to expand based on another dimension attributes. If its a planning model you post a value 0.0 to valid combination to get the desired table expansion on booked values.

Hope this helps !!

Hi Nikhil!

It's a pity to hear because once I set up an hierarchy the most expected behaviour is to respect that hierarchy by all widgets without additional tricks and manipulations.

However, thank you for the advice on how to deal with this case.

Just to ensure I got it right, you have 2 separate dimensions namely Task and Group. The level based hierarchy is in Group dimension where you have attributes Project and Task which were used to construct the level based hierarchy.

The issue is that Task and Group being sperate dimension are not linked at all. The attribute Task inside group currently cannot be used to expand Groups based on Task. So when Task and Group both are added to Table, In Un booked mode a cartesian combination of member selected in the designer will show up in Table.

Level based hierrachy can only show rollup within a single dimension and not two
