Please help me in understanding the concepts and difference of value mapping and key mapping in sap mdg?
Request clarification before answering.
A key mapping holds the different identifiers for a master data objects across various systems.
Example: Business Partner Record for "Olaf Kexel" has BP ID 1234 in SAP System XYZ and has BP ID A100 in CRM System ABC and BP ID C600 in Supplier Management System.
A value mappings exists in addition to the key mapping and is used to map dedicated attribute values: (this is often relevant to cover different SAP configurations in SAP clients)
Example: A material ABCD in SAP MDG on SAP Client 100 defines it in Material Group "01". In SAP Client 200 to which the material is replicated to, this material group has a different identifier "01-200".
