Hello Friends,

Kind Help!!!

We have a below scenario:

Current Scenario:

ECC-->Data Services-->SQL Server Database-->Universe-->Webi Reports

Now due to poor performance of the BOBJ reports, Our client replaced the SQL Server with the Sybase IQ. So We need to know what are the steps that we need to be taken care of in this scinario.

As per new Scenario: Client has decided to replace the SQL Server database to Sybase IQ for better performance.

ECC-->Data Services-->Sybase IQ-->Universe-->Webi Reports

How it affects the current webi reports after the migratin of the SQL Server tables to Sybase IQ. Please let us know the steps to follow so that all the existing webi reports should work normally.

Thanks in advance friends.

There is no automation available for this kind of database migration.

After the migration is done you will have to create a new universe on top of IQ and replicate all the objects or features of the SQL server universe with the Sybase IQ functions and SQL.

Once the new universe is ready you would need go to each webi report and add a new query and replace and map all the report objects from the old universe to the new one..

Hi Mishra,

Thanks for your reply.

If this is the case, then this is like re developing from the scratch. I think there should be a way to tackle this so that we can't re build the universes and change all the webi universes.

Hi,

Does the universe has same objects and name?. What is version of your BO?.

First change the ODBC Connection( Recheck if it is System DSN or User DSN)., then change the connection in Universe

Check the objects and classes, refresh the structure and export the universe to repository.

Remove the measures if you have any and then add after refreshing WebI report.

In WebI >> Data tab>> change and select the same Universe and map the objects.

If the dimensions technical names are different then report will not run and instead throws a pop saying " unresolved objects". So remap the objects >> save back and execute the report.

Thanks,

Hi Jothi,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Our BOBJ Version is 4.0 and now the migration of SQL Server tables to Sybase IQ is happening @ the client side. Once that is complete then only we can have access to their Sybase IQ,Universe and WEBI systems.

Mean while I just wanted to know what are all the steps need to be taken care of in order to run the existing webi reports which were on top of SQL Server database earlier and off course they are completely removing the SQL Server and placing the Sybase IQ for better performance of the webi reports.

Let me know if you have faced such kind of scenario till now, If yes.How you have tackled this.
