Issue with Webi Change Source Wizard

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing Object Mapping Issue with Webi Change Source Wizard. Our Universe (.UNX BO4.0 SP5 P6) . There is a Universe currently in production and we have changed the folders/objects for some requests. The existing standard reports have been re-mapped in development using object mapping and have been successfully run/promoted to QA. The standard reports based out of the universe are successfully promoted to production (Promotion Management) and are running fine.

Now we are trying to re-map objects for some custom reports that are throwing error in production so that they could be rectified. I see the following fields being shown as "Remove Object" (since it has been moved to a different folder and renamed) and so I use the select button at the end to chose a new object instead.

Here as soon as I select the Radio button "Select a new object" and chose the desired object from a folder. But all the objects are greyed out here and the Ok button is never enabled as shown below to complete mapping and run the report. Any inputs highly appreciated please.

Thanks,

Anil

Hello,

We had a similar issue and it was resolved by the following steps:

1. Log on to CMC as an Administrator.

2. Click on Servers and double click on the WebIntelligence Processing

Server. This will open its properties.

3. Here locate the following parameter # "Maximum Custom Sort size"

and change the value to 65000.

4. Restart the WebIntelligence Processing Server.

NOTE: Please perform steps 3 and 4 on all your WebIntelligence

Processing Servers.

5. Log on the BI Launchpad and try to repoint the report to the new

universe again.

Thanks Shwetha & Anil for your reply on this.

I will try Shwetha, which you suggested to me and let you know if that works for us.

Hi Anil,

I recommend you to upgrade your BO server patch to higher one.

4.0 Sp5 has issues with change source.

Hi all,

I am also getting the same issue with Change Source Wizard.

Is anyone has workaround or solution?

No Aakash, it was a custom report based out of a standard report. Hence rebuilt it. Could not get this resolved. Been a long time.

Yes we are suffering with the same issue. We develop WebI reports in one environment then promote to Production and when we try to map to the Production unx some objects don't map and cannot be mapped to identical objects with the same name, same folder name, same object type, same data type, etc. etc. The object is visible but greyed out and the OK button is greyed out when you select the object you want to map to. What's worse, if you click remove object, it doesn't just remove it from the query (so you could readd it from the new Universe and carry on) it removes it from the report itself, so any columns or fields that used that object disappear. The only solution we've found is to promote a new copy of the Universe along with the reports and then painfully map all tables in the universe to the Prod Connection. Thus we end up with multiple copies of the Universe, just to support versions of the reports that were promoted at different times.

I'm surprised SAP hasn't responded to this thread.

Hi Anil,

Is the dimension/measure object to which you are trying to map the new object, part of 'Available objects' in the report?

Please check this..

Anil,

If it is a Measure object that you are trying to map, try also mapping the Unit object if it has one.

Srilakshmi,

It happens with measure and dimension objects. Both of them behave the same, btw would you please elaborate on what you exactly meant by Unit object in above?

Thanks,

Anil

Anil,

Sure..Measures co-exist with units. For eg: Amounts must have some currency. Quantity can have a unit called PC and so on..

This is the Unit object I was refering to in my earlier response.

Thanks for the clarification Srilakshmi. So the report doesnt have any units for currency measures or quantity. Also this is not based out of Bex and it Universe based plus issue with dimenions too. So not sure what's going on there..

Hi Anil,

Try to Map your Object with same data type Objects

That is you cant Map  Dimension Object with Measure object and vise verse

Make sure Object data type should be same

Mahi,

As soon as I select the Radio button to "Select a new object" the Ok button is greyed out.

Even upon selecting the same object/data type it does not enable the Ok button to proceed. Hope that explains the problem.

Thanks,

Anil
