Issue in mac while using abap editor

Basically I am a student and i am having a mac so while using abap editor in my mac the syntax words not highlighted in the editor but as a windows user its working fine what is the solution for the issue?

I guess you're using the old backend ABAP Editor (SE80 etc.) for SAP GUI 6.40+

Mac is using SAP GUI for Java. Note 454939 states that this editor is not available for SAP GUI for Java.

Better use the latest development tools with latest features = Eclipse + ADT.
