Integration directory/builder does not open

5,840

Hi,

I have problems opening the integration directory (integration builder).

From the homepage I can open the link to Integration Builder, where I can enter my username and password. The directory.jnlp file is downloaded and I can open it, prompting the Java security pop up on which I can press the 'run' button.

The program is then loading and appears in the taskbar. However, clicking on this icon in the taskbar yields nothing, and hovering over it with the mouse only shows a white screen.

I get no error message or any other hint that something might be wrong. Does anyone have an idea what can cause this? Are there possibly old corrupted invisible directory.jnlp files stored somewhere?

I work from home on a windows 10 computer via a vpn connection. Colleagues that also work from home via this connection do not have this issue, so I'm tempted to think it has something to do with settings in my computer. I can log onto and open ESR.

I've tried several things:

- different browsers (chrome, edge, firefox)

- deleting internet cache and java cache

- reinstalling java 8

- different wifi

- changing router settings

- browsing this forum and sap notes, but none of the problems really are similar to mine

- via my company's old work environment

- deleting all old .jnlp files

- add url to java exception list

Hi Reinout, do you use additional screen connected to your computer?

Recently I had exactly the same issue. Please check if you can see active java session (Java Web Launcher) in the task manager.

If you can see it, right click on it and then choose "Bring to front" from context menu. Please also disconnect your 2nd screen and try to repeat the same.

Hi Mateusz,

bringing it to the forefront didn't work for me, but it got me the idea to get an old screen from the basement and connect it to my laptop. This did the trick! (strange though that 'bring to forefront' didn't work)

Hi metuse ,

if "Bring to front" doesn't work, hover over the icon in taskbar, right click the preview image and select "Maximize". This will trigger the window to maximize on the main screen.

Hi Reinout,

*What's the error you are getting?

*Open Java from Control Panel, Security, Edit site list. Add your PI URL for ID and ESR
