Hi Gurus,
I have worked on data modelling but m new to Integration Planning.I have gone thru some PPT that i have but didn't understand much. Can any one explain me about Ip in simple words?
Request clarification before answering.
Dear Deepika Jain,
I hope the following presentation helps.

This is a simple presentation with some screenshots - it will not give u very detailed information but it does give an over-view of what IP and where it stands with regards to BPS.

Hi Deepika,
Briefly say.... Integrated Planning is web based integrated in portal.
BI Integrated Planning is the new version of BW-BPS that is delivered as standard with BI 7.0. In contrast to BW-BPS, this solution is completely and tightly integrated into BI system. Instead of wiping out BW-BPS completely and introducing Integrated planning, SAP is allowing both of these tools to co-exist in the current system.
SAP recommends to use Integrated planning for all the new developments. Going forward SAP will be actively enhancing and supporting BI Integrated planning only. So BW-BPS is legacy and future will be BI Integrated planning.
There are lot od differences between BPS and IP; some of them are:
1. IP is a totally web based planning framwrork and user interface.
2. Bex eporting interface is the interface for IP; whereas BPShad planning folder besides web interface.
3. in IPplaning and reporting hapen in same tool, where as in BPS, planning is separate from reporting.
4. Objects in IP are to be built in a web based interface whereas in BPS it is BPS0.
5. Some of the objects that were built in BPS can be reused in IP.
Separate training BW370 is available for BI integrated planning from sap education.

Deepika,
The tcode in RSPLAN which opens a planning modeler in Internet Explorer. We can say it as a web based application. Very similar to Portal. U will find a Wizard which helps u to achieve ur requirement in a planned way.
Plz follow below links for more...
U can find documentation cum examples by SAP in the below documentation link.

My kind suggestion for u is to go for IP training provided by SAP. It will be very useful for u. It's worth 100%.
Assigning points is only way of appreciation in SDN.

Integrating BI Integrated Planning
Use
You can use the BW-BPS Status and Tracking system (STS) with BI Integrated Planning. This is useful if you are already using BW-BPS with the Status and Tracking system but want to use additional functions from BI Integrated Planning.
Activities
If you want to apply the STS lock check to Web applications created in BI Integrated Planning, proceed as follows:
...
1. Open the Planning Modeler.
2. Open the InfoProvider for which you want to use the STS lock check.
3. Open the Data Slice tab page for this InfoProvider.
4. Choose Create.
5. Choose the Exit Class entry from the selection list for The Data Slice Is Based On.
6. Choose exit class CL_UPS_LOCK_DATASLICE.
7. Save your entries.
In the Customizing of STS you can then enter the URLs of Web applications created in BI Integrated Planning for the planning application and control report.
In addition, you can enter either a global planning sequence created within BW-BPS or a planning sequence (with a variant, if applicable) created within BI Integrated Planning upon status switch. Input help is available.

Subha
