Inconsistent Refresh / Synchronization Rate for Snowflake Data Published Through SAP BDC Connect

Hi SAP Community,

We are currently testing SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) Connect for Snowflake using Snowflake-managed Iceberg tables and are trying to understand the expected refresh/synchronization behavior.

During our testing, we updated data in two Iceberg tables in Snowflake and monitored how long it took for those changes to become visible on the SAP BDC/Datasphere side.

We observed different synchronization times between the tables. In one test, changes to DEP_IB became visible in less than 5 minutes, while changes to COMM_LEND_IB took approximately 16 minutes.

Does anyone know:

  • What is the expected refresh/synchronization frequency for Snowflake → SAP BDC Connect?
  • Is there a documented refresh interval or expected latency?
  • Is the synchronization interval configurable?
  • What could cause different Iceberg tables using the same BDC Connect integration to refresh at significantly different times?
  • Is there a way to monitor when BDC Connect detects or processes changes from Snowflake?

We are trying to determine whether this variation in refresh time is expected behavior or if there is something in our configuration that should be investigated.

Thanks!
