IMS - SAP integration experiences

We are looking for previous experiences ("trials and tribulations") with integrating IMS applications and environments with SAP. We are currently considering an XI 3rd party IMS adapter (from iWay) and are looking for experiences with this adapter as well as other types of integration methods (e.g. WebSphere, traditional flat file, RFC, etc.).

We are also looking to integrate with IMS applications. However, we are considering using the JDBC adapter with NEON Shadow drivers. We would like to hear about any experiences using this approach.
