I also did look in error-log on Gateway and ST22 on backend, but it didn't get me any further, can someone give me idea what is wrong with Leave Reuest Aprroval app?
First of all check the RFC's working correctly or not in both the systems. You need to check using t-code SM59, double clicking on generated RFC for your requirement. Do connection test and authorization test.
Both must be successful.
Then after check the authorization role assigned or not for the logged in user.
Make sure the RFC is trusted. When you test the RFC with Remote login, it shouldn't ask for entering credentials. Ask your basis resource to have a trusted rfc connection setup between GW and ECC.
Even after that if you still see issues, then paste the logs from /iwfnd/error_log transaction.
