How to use Aggregation function in a table

Hey,

I am curious about how to use the aggregation function within a table in a story to calculate the average value of a certain measure over time where time acts as dimension.

When I open the fx editor within the measures I don't get the "Aggregation" option in the dropdown. If I open the "Add measure" dropdown I am not able to create a new measure from calculation (other than in this tutorial)

So how to come about it? Note that the option is well available once I switch to a barchart e.g.

Hello, if you try to do it all under data import, is it all right? SAC like live connection from S4/HANA mostly. Other live conn have some issues.. For examle I didnt even calculate percentage under live data from SAP Universe.. aggregation was possible.

Also you could look to support matrix, if you connection is not old version SAC Wiki.

Good luck

Hi,

I suspect you did not click on the measures .. I can see this is done on the dimension Calendar Day.

Hey,

this is where I end up then:

Which is a totally different dialogue and it doesn't offer the "aggregation" function at all.

Kind regards,

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

To get the Exception Aggregation and Aggregation you will need to highlight on the measures and then ... ( 3 dots ) which will then give you the option and then this can be displayed in the grid.

Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. Somehow it doesn't seem to work, could you please again guide me more specifically.

So I hover the Measures and get the three point icon:

Then clicking it I get the following dropdown:

hen going to "Add Calculation" I end up in the fx editor which then doesn't offer me the "Aggregation" function as shown in my initial post.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks and kind regards, Jonas

Hey Ashok,

the table is linked to a model which itself queries the data via a live connection from CB1/BW.
