How to Mask data base in SQL database

Hi SAP Community,

We would like to ask for guidance regarding the proper approach for creating a development environment in SAP Business One.

Our planned process is as follows:

  1. Create a duplicate copy of our production database backup.
  2. Apply database masking/anonymization to all sensitive financial and confidential data in the duplicated database.
  3. Use the masked database as a development environment for our developers while creating custom modifications and enhancements in SAP Business One.

May we ask if there is a recommended or standard procedure for this setup?

Hello Mark,

I don't think this is easily possible and common practice.
I would rather limit the authorizations or work with demo databases offered by SAP containing dummy data.

But I think for proper development and acceptance tests you will need at some point real world data.
