How to install the SAP Solution Manager ABAP & JAVA and perform the initial configuration?

Dear Customer,

The current support release (SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SR2) is based on SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SPS 12. It's always suggested to have the latest 7.2 SPS version. Installing and updating SAP Solution Manager as follows, which the detailed steps are stated in the Master Guide.

1. Plan ABAP and Java system installation with the Maintenance Planner.
2. Install the SAP Solution Manager 7.2 ABAP system with the stack.xml file generated by the Maintenance Planner and the latest Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM).
3. Install the SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Java system with the stack.xml file generated by the Maintenance Planner and the latest SWPM.
4. Establish a connection between the installed ABAP and Java systems.
5. Connect the managed systems with SAP Solution Manager using the SAP Solution Manager Configuration (transaction SOLMAN_SETUP).

New process using Maintenance Planner

1. Plan a system change in Maintenance Planner
2. Download the Stack XML and the corresponding stack
3. Download the initial installation archives from SAPForMe
4. Install new system using SWPM
5. Update system using SUM
