How to install SAP Tutor Java Player?

Former Member

Hi all,

I have copied all the relevant files of SAP Tutor Java 2.1 to my web server.

I can access the website at the client PC and I can open the SAP Tutor Java Player. However, when the Java Player is opened, it just hangs there did not play anything.

Does anyone has the same experience in using SAP Tutor Java 2.1?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Gordan Chen

Good morning,

I see that this post has been answered however I can n ot really determine the answer.

Similar to the problems listed, this is my experience:

I created a SAP Tutor file with an assessment.

I used the sample html files on the cd to create a "web scenario" i.e. I copied all the relevant files to my web server, embedded the JAVA player etc.

I created the relevant dB using the DB Settings tool (I am using an Oracle dB)

When I launch the web from my local machine, it opens the relevant SAP Tutor file, however it displays an error message saying "The training database cannot be opened..."

When I choose "OK" it still allows me to play the Tutor and do the Assessment, however no user input is recorded and saved to the dB.

Anyone have any suggestions or checks that I can perform?

When I use the "Tutor Reporter" I can connect to the Oracle dB, so architectually it does work, it just seems that the JAVA player can not "See" the dB?

Please help !

You can mail me: freddieb@documation.co.za with any suggestions.

Thanks.

I have the same problem and I didn't found any solution till now.

I use an IIS 6.0 on a Windows 2003 Server. When I use the SAP Tutor Java player at this web server I get the same error situation as reported by Chen.

I have also an Apache web server installed at the same server. When I run the player with Apache all works fine.

I have also an IIS 5.1 on my local Windows XP workstation as part of MS Visual Studio 2003. The Tutor player works very well on this machine too.

So it seems to be a special problem of the IIS 6.0 in combination with Windows 2003 server.
