hallo, i try to create a dependency matrix over requriement model to a LDM Attributes

but i have a small path between   Requirement Model A => Requirement Model B => LDM ( Entities )

the Req. A´s are linked via "Requirement Traceability Link"  to the Req. B

and Req. B´s are linked via "Requirement Traceability Link"  to the LDM Entities

I tried to create a dependency matrix that should show me that such a link exists for each Requirement A to all assigned LDM Entities.

But my definitions doesn´t work and the Documentation from Sybase is spare.

Could you give me please a Hint how to do it ?

I tried this but it doesn´t work

thanks br thomas

There is a standard matrix to do this - the Traceability Matrix. There are two easy ways to create one of these:

  • use the toolbar in the Document View (the default view of requirements) - click on the Create Traceability View button

  • right-click the model name in the browser, select 'New', then 'traceability matrix view'

Make sure the matrix type is set to 'Design Objects' using the 'change traceability matrix type' button

Click on the tool bar button that has a '+' on it to select objects for the matrix columns, from open models

Hallo Georg ,

thanks for Reply but i need a little bit more than the "Standard" Traceability or Design Model Matrix.

I had the Problem to jump over 1-2 Layers

From

Requirement A (RQM)  => Requirement B (RQM) => Design Model (LDM)

Requirements in A are linked with Requirement B it the way you described with

Tracabillity Matrix + Requirement Model

To

Requirement B are linked with Logical Data Model Elements ( Entities ) with

Tracabilitiy Matrix + Design Model

and what i need is the Dependency Matrix between

Requirement A (RQM)  => Design Model (LDM)

In the Documentation this should be able todo with the "Advanced" Definition of Dependency Matrix

but it did not work as expected.

I tried it in this way but it did not work yet

It will show me the Rows ( Requirements ) and also the Columns ( Entitites ) but the

Cells are empty although the Requirement Traceabilitiy Links are there.

thnx br thomas
