Grouping?

Hi All,

I have a report with M.Tye & Revenue.

M.T	Revenue
web	34
pic	23
cosmic	38
due	99
sell	23
mart	21
dmart	11
jen	41

now i want show the M.T like web,pic,cosmic remaining all are as others. is it possible in dashboard/Excel?

I was done in webi its fine.

Hi Govardhan,

Please use the below given formulas to do the calculations in excel,

=SUMIF(A$2:A$9,"web",B$2:B$9)

=SUMIF(A$2:A$9,"pic",B$2:B$9)

=SUMIF(A$2:A$9,"cosmic",B$2:B$9)

=SUM(B2:B9)-SUM(E2:E4)

M.T.	Rev		M.T.	Rev Total	Formula of Col E
web	34		web	34	SUMIF(A$2:A$9,D2,B$2:B$9)
pic	23		pic	23	SUMIF(A$2:A$9,D3,B$2:B$9)
cosmic	38		cosmic	38	SUMIF(A$2:A$9,D4,B$2:B$9)
due	99		others	195	SUM(B2:B9)-SUM(E2:E4)
sell	23
mart	21
dmart	11
jen	41

For "others" total, get total of all and subtract the total of web, pic and cosmic.

If you know that you need only three values to show particular revenue and others to be categorized others than you can use simple sum formula to sum revenues and then you can create new table with desired rows and column and map them in components.

What you are trying is grouping. which can be done in reporting tool end but not in dashboard side. As a workaround you can hardcode the above values and you can sum it. But it won't help you in case of your data with dynamic dimensions.

Better you can do the above logic webi report and you call it to dashboard using your preferred connection type.

Hi,

You could create a webi report. Later create a web service on the webi report and consume it in Dashboard. Check if this helps.
