FTPS queries

Hi Experts,

I have below questions: SAP PI 7.1:

1. Can we connect to the server using FTPS protocol without the need of certificate from the server?

2. What should be the "Connection Security" when we are not checking the option "Use x509 certificate for client authentication"

Thanks in advance

Not much to add what's not already being said. Just quick answers to your questions

  1. Nope, you would need the server's certificates for FTPS
  2. You would want to go for FTPS for Control and Data Connection. However, this depends on what the FTPS Server is capable to provide

One caveat: The last time (was on 7.40 though) I used FTPS, only explicit FTPS was supported: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1554886

Cheers

Jens

Hi Surya,

Please have a look at following SAP Notes:
821267 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0 / PI 7.1 / PI 7.3 File Adapter (search with terms "ftps", "sftp")
795131 - FAQ: How to make Secure FTP communication with SAPFTP
2545481 - Secure FTP does not work in SAP syste

Basically, there's SFTP and FTPS in context of file adaptor and SFTP in conext of RFC.

I hope above helps.

Best Regards,
Kashyap Shah
