FIORI - ECC Load Balancing Issue

Hi Experts,

We are in a situation when we make call to transaction SMEN(GUI Version) from FIORI Launchpad to our back end system which is ECC. We are experiencing an issue here all ECC GUI sessions launched at central instance only. ECC is configured with 5 instances for load balancing. It looks like when SMEN is called from FIORI load balancing is not working, the whole load is going to the central instance.

I think this is going only to central instance because of HTTP RFC, we have host name of central instance. I don't see load balance parameters like ABAP RFC.

How can I distribute the load balance in this scenario? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

KSA

You have to install a WebDispatcher in front of your instances and then configure the FQDN of the Web Dispatcher in the SM59 HTTP Destination.

Hi Gregor,

Thanks for your response.

We already have a web dispatcher in front of Fiori. Can I use the same web dispatcher by configuring a new FQDN for second system. or, Should I go for multiple web dispatcher in this scenario ? One in front of Fiori and other in front of ECC.

please suggest.

Thanks

Hi kirpal.ahuja,

one Web Dispatcher can be configured for multiple FQDN's. But you should have at least two. One for Dev & QA and another one for Production.

Hi,

Thank you Gregor, After installing a Web Dispatcher in front of ECC and then configure new FQDN in SM59 in FIORI solve the issue of load balancing.

Thanks,

Kirpal
