Just installed Crystal Server 2011 and everything seems to be working ok except I keep getting this error when trying to open excel files from either the CMC or BI Launch Pad.
If I try to open the file directly from the history list I get the error filename[1].xls:: file format is not valid. The reports have been scheduled with a default format of Microsoft Excel (97-2003) and go to the default Enterprise Location. If I try and save the file I get the same message without the [1]. If I email the report to myself, it opens fine. This is just driving me crazy! It only happens with some files - not all and there doesn't seem to be any similar options. I have tried changing the different format options with that file type but nothing works.
Does anybody have any ideas on how I can fix this or stop it from happening?
There is one other issue I have noticed that seems to have been logged already in that rescheduling a report with a 'replace' option actually does not delete the orginal schedule.

Ok, for anybody getting this error, it occurs with the Page Setup options in Crystal Reports.
If I check No Printer and Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size, then I can open the file with no problems.
You will need to refresh the repository report once the above changes have been made. You will only be able to open reports scheduled with the above options - still cannot open the historical files.
