Exadata DB instance Installation

Dear Experts,

During the DB instance installation on exadata we get following error. Have you any experience about this issue ?

RA-00304: requested INSTANCE_NUMBER is busy Disconnected . SOLUTION: For more information, see ora_sql_results.log

ora_sql_results.log file contains following message;

STARTUP NOMOUNT; exit; Output of SQL executing program: SQL*Plus: Release 12.1.0.2.0 Production on Wed Jun 27 12:37:52 2018 Copyright (c) 1982, 2014, Oracle. All rights reserved. Connected to an idle instance. ORA-00304: requested INSTANCE_NUMBER is busy Disconnected SAPINST: End of output of SQL executing program /oracle/SID/121/bin/sqlplus. SAPINST found errors. SAPINST The current process environment may be found in sapinst_ora_environment.log. 2018-06-27, 12:38:13 SAPINST ORACLE stop logging

Yes, this one is known.

We have an SAP Knowledge Base Article about this:

2281105 - RAC instance startup fail with ORA-00304

Besides this, it worth to check if the latest SWPM is in place.

Hi Janos,

This sap note not applicable for our situtation because DB not opened yet. I can not execute "alter system.." command. But i did not use latest version SWPM. I try with new version and let you know.
