ESS/MSS Namespace

Does SAP recommends to copy the ESS/MSS Roles, Workset, iView, etc into new Folder with Company Namespace (Object Name, ID, ID Prefix) and change the Namespace(Object Name, ID, ID Prefix) of all the copied object specially ID Prefix. What are the effect of doing this ?

Hi,

I would recommand not to modify any PCD object shipped with the standard installation. Ok Ok there are exceptions (Master Rule Collection, etc). But you have got the message. If you do want to use SAP objects copy the objects into your namespace and start modifying the copies.

If you work on the SAP objects you might break something and not be able to restore the initial state.

The problem here is, you don't have to copy only role and modify the Namespace, but you have to keep modifying all the object under that role for the same Namespace, otherwise it will take you back to Home tab. What is the best way to change the namespace if needed for all the copied object under Employee_self_service role.

Normally I take a copy and delta link of the ESS / MSS content. You don't have to change the namespace if you don't want to, but it can be useful if you want to separate out objects.
