I have problems installing crystal reports 2016, after the custom selection of options, the installer sends the message:
"update of the configuration of engine executables failed"And stops the install process.This is a new installation, I already have cr 8.5 on this laptop.The OS is W10 Pro.Best regards.Request clarification before answering.

Have you tried right-clicking on setup.exe and selecting "Run as Administrator"? You would do this even if you have admin rights on your laptop.
The install will create and update a number of registry settings and Windows 10 security can prevent that from happening if the install is not running as administrator.
