DWC - Join virtual/remote tables

Hello DWC Gurus,

we are considering DWC as replacement for an BusinessObjects Plattform szenario that combines several Oracle tables in a BO universe.

Questions we got:

First, can we join (further model) tables that are connect to DWC only virtually?
So basically we would like to re-build the BO universe in DWC but don't want to replicate/persist the Oracle tables in DWC.

Second, does anyone know if SAP is working on a solution that reads a BO universe and then creates the virtual data model in DWC (representing the BO universe) automatically?

Hi,

• first question, yes, you can join data from remote sources. Access to remote sources like Oracle is managed by HANA SDI/SDA, you can check in documentation some consideration and optimizations done by HANA when accessing remote data (semi joins, push where conditions, etc)
• second question, I have not heard anything about it.
