Dropdown with tree structure

Are dropdowns with tree structure possible with DS (pls see screenshot below)?

If yes, how is it done and as of which release?

If no, is what are the closest possible alternatives?

Also, if not currently available are there any plans to release such a feature?

Ive searched SDN and the internet on the subject of dropdowns with tree structure in DS and found nothing relevant.

thanx

Mr Me - this look like hierarchies?  Design Studio can take advantage of these in the components - as an example below is a Dimension Filter component.

I recommend trying it yourself

Thanks for your answer, but an infoobject hierarchy cannot be integrated in a dropdown as illustrated in my screenshot above, right???

Also, the combination year (0FISCYEAR) and month (0FISCPER3) - or other combinations of time characteristics - are not available as hierarchies in BW. Is there anything available in those cases?

My example above is an info object hierarchy

Have you tried this with your own data?

Hi,

Does it need to be a tree selector, or would cascading prompts/values be equally adequate?

Hmm sorry but I dont know exactly what you mean. Could you please post a picture as an illustration?

When it comes to time characteristics I have not tried, because there are no hierarcies available on these IOBJs ... or am I wrong?

When it comes to IOBJs with hierarchies I am very familiar with using them as illustrated by your picture above, but do not know how they could be integrated in a dd-box.

Thank you for your assistance

Thanks for this Mike. Now, am I wrong in my understanding of cascading filters that a selection must be made on all levels?

With that I mean suppose cascading filters have been set for the following three IOBJs: country - region - city

If the user only selects a country and then executes the report:

Will all regions and all cities of the selected country be included in the result set?

Or

Will the result set be empty because no region and city were selected?

Which is true? The former or the latter?
