Hello rajswarinimmaanapudi,

There are multiple ways data can be combined or blended in SAC:

  1. During data wrangling stage itself. Also know as "Native" blending. Say you want to combine data between feed from source system and a custom built csv/excel file. You can combine data during SAC model creation stage itself.
  2. Browser based blending - now say one or both datasource is (are) live. Data need to leave system and blended on the fly (broser contqiners) You can combine data (live or acquired) from two source on the fly in SAC stories itself. Linked dimensions
  3. SDI (Smart Data Integration) based blending means the data is transmitted, via SDI, and temporarily stored in either the Primary or Secondary data source where the blending itself occurs. Smart Data Integration (SDI) need to be setup between the data source and SAP Analytics Cloud. This means an SDI Agent to be running and connected to the HANA system via SAP Cloud Connector.

Some details around source systems to consider for blending.

Note: When it comes to browser based blending, preferred options is SDI setup (if applicable and available). SAC is not a full fledge EDW setup (unlike SAP BW or SAP DWC), hence its transformational and blending capabilities are limited when compared to its EDW peers.

Here are some additional details around supported scenarios with respect to source of data:
