Document Archiving - Concept and Procedure

Hi All,

I have been asked to archive the documents present in SOST, i have gone through many articles but not getting the correct idea, concept  and procedure about it. Please tell me the concept behind Document archiving, what are the different types of archiving in SAP, and any note or document or any link which can help me in performing this activity.

It is generally not advised to archive the contents of SOST.
