Hi All,
We are planning to use Ariba Document Approval API for a planned Fiori My Inbox <> Ariba integration to handle approvals. My current understanding is that CIG does not handle/execute API calls (since the CIG documents - Installation, Overview and Config does not state this API). Is that correct?
Or we still need a middleware to execute the API?
Also, if do we have any documentation that states CIG cannot process APIs?
Apologies on the bulk of questions.
HI Niko, CIG doesnt handle API flow messages, you can use a middleware or not depending on development skills of the tool you require, for example ABAP can consume APIs (no need of middleware) as well as SCP Web Ide without CPI, if the tool you have can develop REST calls then you can implement any Ariba API.

Hello Niko,
CIG provides standard integration for SAP Ariba applications with SAP backend ERP / S4 systems for all standard business processes. At this time, it is definitely not meant to support customer specific implementations e.g. Document Approval API.
CIG product documentation has all the supported business transactions and anything that is not documented is not supported.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Kalyan
