Different types of SAP Implementation Methodologies

Hi Friends,

To implement SAP, we use ASAP (AcceleratedSAP) methodology. Right ?.

I just want to know whether (apart from ASAP), are there any other / different types of methodologies available (or used to be available in the past), in SAP ?

If yes, please give an overview and detail. I will award points.

Hi Rajeev,

Yes, we use ASAP methodology to implement SAP because this is the most popular strategy and also easy to implement. SAP has prepared this strategy in 1996 for doing any R/3 Implementation. Prior to ASAP, SAP has some of the other implementation methodologies which it was using. One of them is TOPPLAN SAP, you can refer this link to know more about TOPPLAN SAP implementation methodology.

Hi Rajeev,

Adding more on Sumit's reply:

Suppose a company called 'X' is implementing SAP for its client company called 'Y', then the X company may follow its own implementation methodology if any.

Technically this might have been designed based on ASAP,TOPPLAN etc methodologies.

Example: Indian IT companies may follow their own methodology to implement SAP for their clients.
