Hello Everyone,
Kindly elaborate the differences between Flex mode and Reuse Mode. I have read what is on internet. How to decide when to use them for MDG -S, C and M. Why MDGF is specially used in FLEX MODE.

Swati

Dear Swathi,
Please find the details below,
Re-Use active area (re-use mode) – Existing structures (i.e. data base tables) of applications
are used. For example, MDG for material makes use of the MARA table in ECC.
flex mode– Tables as defined in the MDG data model are used to
store active data.

Shankar

Hi Swati,
I'm not an expert but when you manage financial data you have to respect a big number of legal compliance, I think that's the reason for MDG-F flex mode usage: active data are not available on other systems until replication process is triggered, in this way you can implement the concept of "editions".
In general, the use of Reuse/Flex mode on MDG implementations is strictly connected with customer's requirements and needs. I don't think you can identify a guideline relevant in any situation.
Cheers,
Riccardo.
