What is the difference between creating Data source using Tcode RSA2 & Tocde RSO2.

If we create DS using RSA2 will it be a master DS or transaction DS.

Anita

What I think RSA2 : is Data SOurce repository for (Master & transactional data sources)

and RSO2, you can maintain and create data sources

you access RS02 Transaction if you want to create generic extractors (not standard and application specific extractors).

you access RSA2 Transaction if you want to view information for all datasources.

Assign points if it this help your..

Hi Anita,

If I am not wrong RSA2 was used in previous release to create DS, both for Master and Transactional Data.

Now you must use RSO2 to create Master Data and Transactional DataSources.

Hi Riccardo,

May be you are correct.

Please refer note 863644 , there you have a attachment, which tells you how to create Data source using RSa2.

Hi Anita,

Thank you very much for the info, but I ma surely wrong. From your note it seems you use RSA2 starting from 3.5 and 7 release, so I was really wrong.

I really beg your pardon.

Ciao.

I thought RSA2 was only for displaying a DS, can we create one there?
