Hi community Team,
Could you please explain the difference between Multi-Action and Data Action in SAP Analytics Cloud? Can the same steps performed in multi-Action be achieved using Data Action, such as data locking, predictive scenarios, and data import steps?

Multi actions and data actions are similar in some ways. They both consist of a sequence of steps that you set up in a separate designer. When they’re ready, users can run them in stories or analytic applications using a planning trigger.
The focus is different, however: Data actions let you design a variety of calculations to manipulate planning data; multi actions are all about combining existing operations in a way that simplifies a task for users.
To understand the difference and similarities refer to the below section of help document.
To determine whether to use a data action or a multi action, check this table:

Thanks Nikihil for the quick response!!
Nikhil is spot on & faster as usual :-). In my view multi actions supersedes data actions as a planning automation framework. Meaning you do data actions to fulfill certain steps (data copy etc). Then you can include data actions you built into multi actions (where you can do more things) to automate an end to end process.
