difference between Edit and Modify

Hi All, what is difference between Edit and Modify on WebI?

As of my exp, 'Modify' affected by "Preferences/Web Intelligence/Modify" (so you can enable that when you click Modify, the doc will be opened in Rich Client) and 'Edit' does not (it will always open doc for edit in web client). Maybe I'm missing something thou

Hi This is what i found on Admin Guide.

Edit event :  When contents of objects are changed.

Modify event: When Properties of objects are changed

Both Edit and modify are same.results are same. generally modification means change. edit means correction.

Modify and Edit both are same.

You will find Modify as one of the option once you right click on the desired documnet.It will directly open the document for editing.

Whereas if you open the document in view mode, and want to make changes you will find edit option.

Outcome or Result is same.

It is a subtle difference..  Modify is means to open the document for editing.
