Hello Mangesh,

As previously mentioned, there are several hardware solutions for cloning DB2 subsystems. In our organization, we use one of these solutions, and additionally, we have a procedure for fixing the cloned subsystem and making it ready for running a SAP system on it (we do it several times a year). If you'd like to see some samples, I could supply you with some through email.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hello Mangesh,

as mentioned before there are quite a few ISV with cloning capabilities for a DB2 subsystem, as to not being bias I'll mention some of the leading vendors: CDB-Clone, BCV5 and IBM Data propagator.

All of them have there Ups and Downs, if you want more details please feel free to email me.

There are several additional ISV products available on the market to do an fully automated homogenous system copy, supported by fast hardware mechanisms e.g. FlashCopy.

If you need further info please contact me via eMail.

Thank you.

There is an IBM Redbook that might be helpful:
