DB2 SAP

Hello Gurus - I am a newbie when it comes to DB2 on SAP (although I am a seasoned DB2 DBA) on Unix and Windows. First of all, I am glad that I have joined this forum as I can learn and hopefully share my DB2 knowledge with you folks. Now getting to my question.. What might be few articles that you would suggest for a DBA like me who is excited about DB6 but just lost ?? I hear lots of terms like DBA Cock pit, SAP CCMS etc etc. Can you throw some light along these lines?

I highly appreciate your input and/or any articles that you can lead me to.

The DB2 UDB pages within the SAP SDN webpages offer a variety of documents and also webcasts on SAP DB2 administration.

Hello Pavank,

there's a nice and free guide to DB2 Express-C which has the same base functionality and architecture as DB2 Enterprise Server. You can get it here: Free DB2 book.

Optionally you can use the great repository of DB2-Resources of the DB2 user community or the official DB2 online documentation

In order to build the bridge to SAP, I would recommend - as Hans-Jürgen already mentioned - the DB6 Admin Guide.

These guides should provide a good introduce in both, the DB2 and the DB6 (DB2 LUW for SAP) World. I hope this will be helpful for you.
