Hi Sunil,

The backup drive already mapped as

sapbackup on 'EFLBACKUP\BACKUP\DEVBACKUP(Z:)

in DEV server.Also i am taking online backup through BRTOOLS in DEV.

The same settings are working fine in IDES by DB13.

Hi SUnil,

We have recently implemented SAP in our orgn. I wnat to have some clarification on DB13 recurrence.

Is this funtionality provides facility to repeat the action on particular date and time

OR

By this functionality I can control my LTO tape not getting over written before the recurrence date.

I was told by my implemetation partner that by using this option we can ensure the tapes do not accidently get over written befor the recurrence date and time.

I have tapes marked for each day of the week like MONDAY, TUESDAY ......

Can I using this recuurence feature controll the tape getting written only after the particular date and time mentioned in this option.

If you can send across any document on this would help us.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

EFLBACKUP is in network(for backup) and already mapped as drive in initSID.sap(DEV)

The following parameters are already available in initSID.sap

backup_dev_type = disk

backup_root_dir =
Eflbackup\BACKUP\DEVBACKUP\sapbackup

stage_root_dir =
Eflbackup\BACKUP\DEVBACKUP\sapbackup

archive_copy_dir =
Eflbackup\BACKUP\DEVBACKUP\sapbackup

Waiting for your reply

I have checked above parametres in initSID.sap and all are ok.

The job status also showing completed ,when i checked in

display log its showing the above error.

It is working fine by BRTOOLS but i need DB13 backup.

The server Eflbackup is local or network? if this is on network then could you please try to map as drive and modify the initSID.sap file and retry backup in DB13?

Hello All,

I have changed the follwing parameters in the initSID.sap profile

backup_dev_type = disk

backup_root_dir = <disk target>

stage_root_dir = <disk target>

After making changes, i schedule backup in DB13 and type

" disk " in place of tape name.

It is working fine in IDES but not working in Development system.

it is showing the below error log

Job started

Step 001 started (program RSDBAJOB, variant &0000000000013, user ID BASIS)

Execute logical command BRARCHIVE On host EFLTDS

Parameters: -u / -c force -p initEFD.sap -sd -v "DISK"

BR0002I BRARCHIVE 6.40 (15)

BR0282E Directory
Eflbackup\BACKUP\DEVBACKUP\sapbackup not found

BR0182E Checking parameter/option 'archive_copy_dir' failed

BR0007I End of offline redo log processing: adzbxsem.log 2008-10-22 11.30.36

But i am taking the backup by BRTOOLS in development system,it is working fine.

Waiting for reply.

Hello AAA,

You have to change some parameters in your backup profile like example these...

backup_dev_type = disk

backup_root_dir = <disk target>

stage_root_dir = <disk target>

But before making changes take a copy backup of that profile. After making changes, when you will schedule backup in DB13, you have to give " disk " in place of tape name.

I think it willl help you.

Ankit

hello,

first you have to change the init<SID> file accordingly, set/change the required parameters (ie. backup_type, backup_dev_type, compress, backup_root_dir etc...) and then schedule the backup job in DB13,
