Database Migration Option (DMO) - Same or Seperate Target Server?

When using SAP DMO (which is part of SUM) to migrate a database (e.g. Oracle to SAP ASE), can this be done on the same DB server or do you have to have a second server as the target server (in this case one running SAP ASE DB)?
